Listen up, pilgrim: it’s that time of year again. 220 gun slinging enthusiasts from all around the country and the world are participating in the 14th Annual John Wayne Shootout.
The event is being held near San Luis Obispo, off Highway 1 across from Cuesta College. Organizers said the “wild west” theme draws a large group that’s growing every year. “We have Old West vendors we have things that might be of interest. Clothing, boots, knives leather goods, hats, millinery. We have a great place where they can have lunch out here, watch the competitors, and it’s for all ages because everyone is in costume,” said event organizer Sam Cotton.
All the gun shooting stages are based on John Wayne movies. The fun runs through Sunday, so stop on by and check it out.
