I think that the Duke had an awesome outlook on life and kept the cowboy ways. He always stood up for what he believed in and never let the west die!

The Duke was more than an actor to me, as I was growing up, it was he who taught me what being a man was all about. To me he was a father figure, though, I only knew him from the movie screen.
He gave us more than memorable words, and roles, he reminded us that life is frail, but can be wonderful. He showed us that right must be defended and worng must be defeated. His love for America was only surpassed by His love for His family. So from me to you, Happy Birthday Duke!!!!
We still remember you, to us, you will always stand, Tall in the Saddle!!!
