<description>My wife and I were befriended by John at the Burbank Paper show at the Beverly Garland hotel. From that point on we all became friends and he was always a kind and gracious man. He and Lorretta made a cute couple she was a show girl in the Citizen Kane movie, beautiful green eyes and a kind person to. always a kind word and hadshake and hug. He would never say a bad word about Shirley ever, but she refused him from seeing his daughter. He out lived many of our actor western friends and he was not in good health but always supported the Golden Boot Awards. I will always remember him and when i see the Duke movies and John I smile that I he was a friend good feelings inside. When i would go to Monument Valley to ride for a week i would share my ride with him and he would remember the western friends he made movies and shared good times together. He would ask me if the of Fort Apache was still there i would look for signs but it was long gone, from the sight of the Mittens. I will miss him and wish you who have not met him could have and known this kind man. adios amigo. Thank you for letting me share some memories of a friend. all the cowboys are gathering in the big range in the sky, riding horses that never tire.
